The President conveys his heartfelt congratulations to the provincial leadership of Free State, North West, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and Western Cape for hosting a successful Annual General Meetings (AGM). The Provinces were commended for organising the AGMs within the stipulated time period set for ushering in new executive members for the new cycle. Meanwhile, other provinces such as Northern Cape, Kwazulu Natal and Gauteng are expected to complete their AGMs in due time.
Moreover, the President acknowledges that in some instances creditable efforts have been made to include women on the provincial executive. “We must be reminded that Government has set the bar at equal representation (50/50) for men and women in all sporting codes in our country over a period of time, said Mokoena.
In congratulating all the new executive members who are making their debut as provincial administrators of volleyball the President indicated that they must be mindful that provinces require individuals who are energetic, passionate and fired with enthusiasm to deliver volleyball to their respective membership.
The President’s appeal to the Provincial leadership is to “hit the ground running” in respect of implementing the Return To Play plan taking into account all the Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols. To this end Provinces are also reminded to source funding from DSR, Lotteries Commission and Sports Confederation for their own programmes to make the sport flourish within their jurisdiction.
Congratulations once again for hosting a successful AGM. The VSA President wishes to meet and greet your provincial delegate at the VSA QGM on 24 April 2021.
